His mate was seriously injured after she was hit by a car as she swooped low across the road. He brought her food and tended to her with love and compassion.
He brought her food again but was shocked to find her dead. He then tried to move her….a rarely-seen effort for swallows. Aware that his mate is dead, he cries with adoring love. He stood beside her body with sadness and sorrow.
People cried after seeing these pictures when they were published in the leading newspaper in France. All copies of the paper were sold out on the day the pictures were released.
And many people think animals don’t have emotions.THESE BIRDS HAVE MORE EMOTIONS THAN THE PERSON WHO WAS TAKING THIS PHOTO OBVIOUSLY

Look I believe that birds pair-bond and can form emotional attachments but there’s a certain point where we anthropomorphize animals too much.
He’s not trying to shake the other awake. These are barn swallows, who will do the nasty with anything they can. This is a swallow attempting to mate with its dead compadre (who may in fact be a male, they look almost identical save for the length of the tail feathers). Ducks do the same thing.

i really, really hope, that if Patrick Jane and Teresa Lisbon ever get together on The Mentalist, it is on the very last episode of the entire series and we never, ever have to see them a relationship, or deal with relationship drama, because The Mentalist does not deserve to end up like Bones did. i also am really annoyed by the Jisbon ship.

Zabra Hexx was the first troll taken in by the priesthood of the light (or so rumor has it). He spent a completely obscene amount of time in a bush stalking out the monasteries before he got yoinked out by some Silver Hand bros, who did some magic shit and figured out that he was actually like way into the light, and then were like “Holy shit, hes a good guy…” and they let him into the library to devour all of the books and knowledge. He gives Darion a prophecy and then just up and vanishes. He also has an ultra kick ass suit of armor named after him and a bitchin action figure.
